Job Description

GreenLancer is seeking a Power BI Implementation Specialist to lead the design, development, and rollout of our company-wide business intelligence infrastructure. This role combines ETL strategy, data modeling, and dashboard development, empowering stakeholders with scalable, self-serve reporting tools. The ideal candidate will thrive in a cross-functional environment, combining strong technical engineering skills with a user-centered approach to dashboard design.

 

Responsibilities

Dashboard Development & Visualization

  • Design, build, and maintain interactive Power BI dashboards tailored to various departments and stakeholders

  • Translate business requirements and complex datasets into clear actionable insights

  • Ensure dashboards are visually consistent, high-performing, and user-friendly across all platforms

  • Continuously iterate on and improve existing reports to align with evolving KPIs and stakeholder feedback

Stakeholder Collaboration

  • Partner closely with all departments to understand their team objectives and deliver timely, customized analytics and reporting

  • Lead Power BI trainings and support self-service analytics

  • Align and standardize KPIs across departments

  • Anticipate business needs by proactively analyzing trends and providing insights before they are requested

Data Engineering & ETL Strategy

  • Design, test, and deploy ETL pipelines that pull from SQL databases, APIs, cloud storage, and third-party platforms

  • Apply modern data modeling techniques (e.g. star schema, SCD, normalization)

  • Ensure data pipelines are performant, secure, and reliable

 

Proactive Insights & Automation

  • Build alert systems and proactive monitoring for KPI anomalies

  • Automate recurring reporting workflows and system audits

 

Job Qualifications

  • 3 to 5 years of professional experience as a Data Analyst, Power BI Developer, or BI Engineer, or similar role

  • Advanced proficiency in SQL, Power BI, DAX, and Power Query

  • Familiarity with building reports for multiple departments (e.g. operations, sales)

  • Strong analytical skills and business acumen

  • Comfortable working on-site 3+ days/week in Detroit, Michigan

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics, or related field

  • Experience with ETL tools, APIs, XML, or scripting (e.g. Python, JavaScript)

  • Exposure to data warehouse design and deployment

  • Familiarity with BI governance, self-serve reporting strategies, and training non-technical users
