Job Description

As an IT Systems Administrator at GreenLancer, you will be responsible for maintaining,

upgrading, and managing our software, hardware, and networks. The ideal candidate will be well-versed in dev-ops practices and have a strong background in managing security systems. Your goal will be to ensure our IT infrastructure is reliable, efficient, and aligned with our business needs.

Responsibilities

1. System Management:

a. Install, configure, test, and maintain operating systems, application software, and

system management tools.

b. Manage and monitor all installed systems and infrastructure, ensuring optimal

performance.

c. Proactively identify and implement improvements to enhance system functionality

and reliability.

2. Security and Compliance:

a. Develop and implement security measures, protocols, and policies to protect

systems from cyber threats.

b. Regularly audit systems to ensure compliance with the latest industry security

standards.

c. Coordinate with internal and external auditors to conduct regular security

assessments.

3. Network Administration:

a. Oversee local area networks (LAN), wide area networks (WAN), and network

segments.

b. Troubleshoot network issues and outages; schedule upgrades and collaborate

with network architects on network optimization.

4. Data Management and Backup:

a. Ensure data integrity by implementing proper backup and redundancy strategies.

b. Manage and monitor data storage solutions, including on-site and cloud-based

systems.

5. DevOps Practices:

a. Implement and manage continuous integration and deployment (CI/CD)

pipelines.

b. Automate routine operational tasks to improve efficiency and reduce error rates.

6. Troubleshooting and Support:

a. Provide 2nd and 3rd level support, responding to and resolving technical issues

in a timely manner.

b. Serve as a technical expert and point of contact for IT-related queries from other

departments.

7. Vendor Management:

a. Liaise with vendors to ensure efficient procurement and management of software

and hardware resources.

b. Negotiate contracts and manage service level agreements with technology

providers.

8. Documentation and Reporting:

a. Maintain comprehensive documentation of the IT infrastructure, including

configurations, procedures, and service records.

b. Prepare regular reports on system status, incidents, and performance metrics.

9. Collaboration and Training:

a. Collaborate with other IT team members to ensure cohesive and coordinated

efforts across the department.

b. Conduct and facilitate training sessions for staff to improve IT literacy and

compliance with IT policies.

10. Project Management:

a. Lead and participate in IT projects, from planning through to implementation and

evaluation.

b. Coordinate cross-functional teams to ensure successful project completion within

scope, time, and budget constraints.

Job Qualifications

● Minimum of 5 years of experience in a systems administration role.

● BS/MS degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related subject.

● Experience with monitoring systems, automating software deployment, and networking

(WAN, LAN).

● Strong knowledge of systems and networking software, hardware, and networking

protocols.

● Experience with databases, patch management, and networks including LAN and WAN.

● Familiarity with various operating systems and platforms.

● Resourcefulness and problem-solving aptitude.

● Excellent communication skills.
